Any user in your organization who can create, draft, or review documents through August counts as an attorney seat. Administrative staff with view-only access do not count against your seat limit.
Yes. You can upgrade at any time. Billing adjusts on a prorated basis from the date of the change. Downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle.
You connect August to your iManage or NetDocuments instance and select the deal folders you want ingested. August processes each agreement, extracts clause-level patterns, and organizes them by transaction type and practice area. The ingestion is one-time; after that, new closed deals can be added incrementally.
No. Your firm's precedent bank is entirely private to your organization. August does not use your data to train shared models or surface patterns to other firms. Your deal history is indexed only for your own queries.
Design partners operate under a separate early-access arrangement that includes direct roadmap input and weekly calls with the founding team. When design partners transition to standard pricing, the Growth plan is the most common fit. We handle that transition together.
We are currently month-to-month only. Annual billing with a discount is on our roadmap for later in 2026. If annual billing is important to your firm's procurement process, let us know when you reach out.
